I believe I posted this penny before but since I got a new microscope, here's a better image of it. Instead of a capital L, its a lowercase l. I hope these are some better images of it.
You might be saying it for a joke but I have already boxed it back up because the amount I paid for it is just not giving me quality pictures. I'm just shooting these pictures off before I send it back and get another one. The type of money being asked for them, should be a reason they should show better images. I'm dropping it off at UPS today.
The next microscope I get, its going to look like you stuck your hand in your pocket and pulled your change out, and looked at it with your own eyes.
I wasn't joking when I said that. On the other hand, your close-up images should be far, far better than what you would get when looking at change with your own eyes. Below are some examples that I took with my stereomicroscope. Chris
What's your thing called? I want to look it up. It'll make a good gift for my little brat (affectionately-speaking) if I can afford it.
Good decision. I've seen iPhones take better pictures than those. On your L, Hogan, that's just how they show sometimes when they're right up on the inclined edge like that, that lower part of the L doesn't dig into the planchet that well.
I don't believe that my Pac-Sci (Pacific Science) microscope with zoom is made any more. Even if it were, I would recommend a trinocular microscope with zoom, anyway. That way you have one eyepiece that is dedicated for the camera. Chris
As you can see from the photo, it was called "Clear One", and it came with the microscope. The new trinocular scopes using a vertical third eyepiece don't need a gooseneck get-up. A small camera attachment mounts directly onto the vertical eyepiece. Chris
Thanks Chris. I saw the "Clear One" but wasn't sure that was the actual camera. I'm new to all this and excited to get into coins and learning what I can.
