So I picked up a roll of dimes and decided to look through them, I found this one, its a very strange dime, its missing initials and looks as if there is a layer of metal over it on the obverse. Possibly a cud error. On the Reverse there are some very strange markings around the leaf and torch that look like some serious cud errors, or something else could have been punched into it. Not sure what to think about this dime, very strange dime indeed. Not mint state condition but its in pretty decent shape. I know what I'm looking at most likely isn't damage because of the fact that none of the marks are indented into the coin, they rise up. I would love some feedback on what you guys think, I can't find any examples of this.

Sorry about the low quality pictures, my phone doesn't have the best camera. Also sorry about the title it is a 1983 P, I was looking at a possible 1985 double die when I posted this.

    You can edit the title.
Under the title it says Thread Tools click on that and it will give you the option to edit your title.

The strange markings on your Dime is just a worn die strike issue. Nothing major.

As @paddyman98 said, it's a worn die strike. It's common to find these on nickels and dimes in the 80s. Yours is pretty bad, but it's not really worth more than face. If I got this, I would probably keep it, but you would probably get a lot of CT members telling you to spend it. Either is OK

Yeah I'm deffinetly keeping it, may be a worn die strike but the pics don't do it much justice, pretty cool find in my book. Might be able to sell it to someone one day.
