1985 P die mark

    There is a deep depression over the r and d but no deflection on the other side. Think die mark or wear?

    This sort of PMD doesn't necessarily cause damage to the opposite side of the coin. It could depend on how hard the strike to the letters is, or it could be that someone placed a piece of wood (or leather) underneath the coin to absorb some of the shock.

    It could also be a small strike through error. Tough to tell between that and PMD
