I found this in some pocket change. Would this be an off center strike?

Off center if both sides are like that,
    otherwise, a mis-aligned die.
    Nice catch!

Thanks. The reverse isn't like that, so it's a misaligned die?

Shame is that I believe I've seen these kinds of coins before but didn't think anything of them until I recently learned their rarity and possible value.

To GreatWalrus: I'm not sure but I don't think they are very rare and probably don't have much value unless they are in really good condition, but I might be wrong. I don't know a lot about errors yet.

The value of an off centered coin

The value of an off centered coin is determined on how much the coin is off centered or the die is misaligned.I also have a coin just like that one.

Finally!! For eight months I have been wondering how the value of off-center coins is determined.

Sooo . . . . . . the value of an off center coin is determined by how off center it is? Hmmm . . . .

Ordinarily a Mis-Aligned Die strike doesn't carry any value, but this one would because it is mis-aligned far enough that part of the design is missing.

Mine is off center also but not as much as yours. The back side is also off center. Now how bout the 2000 penny I have pictured with the extra stuff above the date????
