To answer your question, No, it is not. It is damage.

Last time!! try to learn ( if you do not like CT, then learn on a different site) as your self knowledge on coins is limited or you are faking it for notoriety, and will not be allowed to do such,, Jim

The problem with learning about coins online folks expect you to know the answers to the questions you are asking.why ask the questions if I knew the answer?...I learn so far is just confusing online nothing ..ok what I think I learned from today is this coin have plating issues ....ok but is that a die break on a plating issue coin? and from how I see folks act here I guess plating issue is automatic do not bother with collecting? what about brand new minted plated issues Lincoln cents do they HAVE any value what so ever in any date? and folks are teaching here on line those lines on a Lincoln cent are die cracks ..and you blaming me the student for all this mess folks are teaching wrong here online.

Yes, I guess we are, and with reasons. I teach as a profession, both lower and upper classes in science. If a student skips Level 100, 201, and signs up for my level 202 class ~ All in the same subject, just increased depth, and I ask a question and all but that student knows what I am talking about , who is the blame? Me the teacher, the other students , or that unknowing student who argues to save face, when all of the other people in the room knows what the problem is. You either skipped level 100, , or you are pulling our pedis and craving attention the wrong way. I was serious about flying straight. Jim

someone took a ballpoint pen to your penny.
a die break is not incused into the coin a die break looks like this see how the metal is raized into the die crack... your penny has a valley with the metal push outward to the side's die crack.png

see how there is BLOB"S of metal here and there that's the deepest part of the crack they do not look like a straight flowing lines

you can do an experiment right not go find a ballpoint pen and a nice penny and draw that same line don't forget to push down on the pen it will take some effort
