Going through coins collected from an old washing machine we came accross this 1985 penny that was larger than a penny and not copper colored. It does not stick to a magnet. Please help us find out what we have error or counterfeit ? 20190614_174341.jpg

It is just a normal cent that has been damaged. There are a couple of different ways this can happen. Heat will do it as will pounding it out between two pieces of leather.

I agree. Pounded Cent. Not a mint error.

The detail of the coin doesn't look stretched hard to tell from the pictures. Have a lot of other penny's that came from the machine as well all others you can tell have been squished or flattened this one has really good detail and is just larger than a normal penny

That is exactly how they look when they are pounded. Think about it, for it to be an error the mint would have to accidentally make a matching set of dies and collar that are larger than they are supposed to be. This would also involve making larger master hubs. Read up on what is involved in die making, a very involved process involving many steps. This is just an impossibility.
