1985 - D double die?

    Looks like die wear has caused that.

    The die that struck that coin was certainly worn down, I agree probably DDD, especially if the doubling is isolated to just the O of ONE, but if there happened to be any other separation or notching following a CW pattern on the outer devices post those pics...

    What you have is die deterioration doubling you could see the distorted doubled images.
