Just a small note: your coins are not technically off-center errors. They are MAD which means the one of the dies was misaligned where as an off-center strike is created when a planchet is not centered correctly (typically as the collar is stuck) and the whole coin (obverse and reverse) are both struck off-center equally. They are much harder to find than the common MADs that will pop up constantly. Good luck with your searches!
You can see my new post on MAD coins here: http://www.cointalk.com/t71781/ Feel free to save the link and refer to it whenever someone has a question about MAD coins.
1985 Dime Do the dimes vary in size like this? I do not have scales...it is almost as thick as a penny. I will take a pic of it with a penny and show you. dd:
You will find that the weight is normal, the dime on the left is just the result of a very strong strike. The higher the striking pressure the better the edge and rims fill in resulting in a "thicker" coin at the edge.
You see the same things in Half Dollars all the time. Some look so much thicker than others, but it is just a full rim.
I have a dime like this but it's on both sides of it and on the back of it nearly all of the letters are 50% or more missing what is this? Also it is a 1985 d
Oh and on the head there is a very noticeable smooth spot that takes up most of the hair my phone camera dose not work currently so i cant send pics but im not finding anything like it online
