why the color difference? by robin f posted Jul 16, 2020 at 12:19 PM does a circulated 100$ bill from 1985 have any value?
$100, only way it'd have more value is if it was a special serial number (Ex. 00000001, 25252525, 07041776, 55555555, or a specific date)
The value is on the bill, several times and it’s on both sides of the bill in numbers and spelled out in letters.
Purchasing power around 50-50 in today's grocery and fuel markets. What goes up must come??? Buy what you need while you can, spend it!
First of all, currency values (over face) have EVERYTHING to do with condition, so a note with folds, tears, and, stains, aren't in demand in most cases. Secondly, because it is a larger denomination, few collectors collect high value notes and don't pay much over face for them, even with special serial numbers, so, taking all of that into consideration, you can answer your own question just looking at the note. I'm not fully understanding the beginning of the post, where you've added nickels with a question, so you should post those separately.
Wow! have you seen the price of gas? Sorry for breaking in, but I was wondering if you guys are still paying $4 a gallon of gas. I live in the country, so I don't see the price of gas frequently. Today, I fueled up my wife's Camry and gas was $3.45 a gallon. Did I miss something? Getting back to the value of your currency, your $100 is worth $100. It just doesn't buy as much as it did before.
