Can anyone help me on the "S" in State is fatter on 1 and the "a" in America is thinner across?

    Your coin appears based on the pictures you provided to be environmental damage.IMO

    The copper plating was stripped from your coin leaving the zinc core underneath. Spend it before it rots away.

    More likely over plated with zinc. Very easy to do.

    Concur with the group. This coin looks like it has suffered some environmental damage. Spend it while it's still holding together.
