two questions. Is this a common error or is it a grease filled die & are grease filled die’s of any value ? First post , glad to be on the forums.
Notice the ridge that follows up to In God We Trust. Some misalignment here caused interference in completing the letter L. Not greased filled but common.
I agree with the above post - it's struck from a overused/worn die, imo; a very common effect on tons of cents, dimes, and quarters minted in the past 20+ years or so.
I know there's a nice cherrypicker for this year, that comes with a MAD die ( Obverse ). I've been looking for years now, for one . That's the only reason I asked for a image of the date .
