1984-P(?) nickel

    All text on the obverse is too close to the outer edge, with "LIBERTY," the year & the mint mark being especially distorted. I don't expect it's valuable, but think it must be a type of error that has a name. Perhaps it's a weak strike with some partially filled characters, or ? I think the nose may be a bit on the long side, too...unless my eyes are playing tricks.

    Things look spruced-up around here. I like it! :)

    The coin is showing signs of heavy die fatigue (die wear, die deterioration). It's rather common in nickels of this period.

    Thanks...now I can label it appropriately. I haven't noticed one like this since I started using a magnifying glass...which was just this year. It's an oddity to me at this point, even if not to others! ;)
