Just found this a couple weeks ago. Thought it was close to dime with same date posted as a clashed die by Heavy Metal. Newbie here, so just know I'm trying if I don't get things right. 20190205_154852 (1).jpg 20190205_154920.jpg

No.. Mechanical Doubling is considered worthless doubling. It doesn't even have anything to do with a true Doubled Die.

About 95% of coins posted on CoinTalk are mostly Mechanical Doubling or Die Deterioration Doubling.. All worthless.
It is really hard to find true Doubled Die varieties!

    Here.. Read this entire website

That's what I had thought before I came on this site to look for a 2016 1oz gold Winged Liberty. Then I saw all the postings and looked at a few coins more closely and saw some differences. I should have known I wasn't that lucky. Duh! I'll do some more reading about error coins before I clutter up a cool site for both information and education. Good thing I didn't lend my sister that money. :)

We’re always looking for unusual coins. If you find something you have a question about it won’t hurt to share it. Stick around just for fun
