I just found a 1984 quarter, appears to be a clad over copper or bronze.

Both sides have G Washington's profile, one side faces to the left and the reverse side the same profile faces to the left as well. Both have LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, but no identifiable mint marking. There appears to something near the "pony tail" but it is not distinguishable with a magnifying glass, might be a P on one side the other side can't tell what it is, but both are stamp marks.

I guess I am trying to find out is this counterfeit or a geniune coin that was minted error in 1984? Other than taking it to a dealer, no one really close by, has anyone had or know of such an error with 1984 quarters or is the possibly a counterfeit coin?

    Thanks,

Thanks, will take a closer look, but it does appear that one side is "thinner" that the other which may indicate the thinner side is in a hollow part of the center bronze slug or center coin.

There goes an early retirement! Maybe my 1932 silver dollars will be worth more.

You could definatly retire with one of those!
You would have the only 1932 silver dollars in existance! (unlikely)

I only say this because none were minted in 1932.
Perhaps you could look at the date again and let us know what they are.
Many here could give an approximate value. Mintmark is important as well
The mintmark is below the "ONE" on the left side reverse on Peace dollars.

    Silver Dollars

My typo error on the silver dollar it was 1923 not 1932.

    But I have a 1884 dollar

    2 1923 liberty dollars
    1 1927 liberty dollars

1 Einsenhower dollar, 1971, looks like the Denver Mint
    1 Einsenhower dollar, 1776-1976, Minted at "E"

Hi hibo, and welcome to the forum
And where, pray tell, is that?

According to my Red Book Ikes were minted at San Francisco ("S"), Denver ("D") and Phladelphia (no mark); and there has never been a U.S. mint with an "E" mark.

Or perhaps, are you looking at the "E" of "E PLURIBUS UNUM" beneath the moon to the right of the Liberty Bell on the Reverse? That's not a mint mark. On the Ikes they are beneath his neck.

I stand corrected the "E" is part of the latin inscription.
