This is a version of the 1984 doubled ear this example has the extra ear in front of ear. Check it out!!! Also their is some raised bumps protruding on the obverse ??Questionable...
And by plating bubbles he means the ear too. Not a doubled die. Lincoln Cents that are zinc with a copper plating can develop bubbles of trapped air under the copper plating. Give one a poke with a toothpick and it will collapse.
I have to disagree about the ear for fact that if you actually look at the ear the bottom ear lobe ( the second ear is tilted 3:00 clock ) in front of the first ear. You can match the second ear over the first ear perfectly...
The other elements are plating blisters correct (Bubbles) but the other ear is solid and hard not soft to push as such a pocket of air....
A doubled die that strong would show on at least the beard as well. Just look at die 1. Doubled ear, beard, and bow tie...you would see strong doubling in those areas as well. I think once you really understand the die-making process, you will soon realize how some coins cannot be doubled dies. I would recommend reading the following link to get you started. http://www.doubleddie.com/58222.html
