You got a 50/50 here. There is a 50 percent chance its a new variety of the 84, or its PMD. I am not trying to rain on your parade but it looks like the ear has took a lick post mint. I would say keep up the hunt but you have to send noncents 2 dollars every time you say or write that. Your check is in the mail noncents.

 

The ear took a hit. This is a common spot for damage for some reason. It is not a doubled die.

could be a side view of the Sphinx for all we can tell.

 

This one looks to be more than just a hit. The way it wraps the ear makes me wonder. I would guess it's some form of MD or a damaged die. Can't see it as a DDO.
