Check the photos in the attachment. I've attached a full shot of the 1984 cent, a 2400DPI close-up of the Ear in question and a 2400DPI close-up of a normal 1984's ear and a full shot of the normal 1984 cent. Try opening them in tabs and switching between them. You can really see a different between the Full shots of the Possible Error 1984 cent and the Normal 1984 cent. This 1984 cent DOES indeed look different from all my other uncirculated 1984 cents from my knowledge. It appears as the ear "was" doubled somewhat. All errors come in slightly different forms, no? What do you think? The line on the bottom left, right below the ear in question stands higher than the strands of hair and it's definitely part of the material on this coin. It's even noticeable to the naked eye. If anything, it is an unusual form there that can't be found on any of my other 1984 cents.
Wolf: The actual doubled ear is clearly below the original, about 1/4 the size of the original. Thre is also a Coin World report of another one, just a doubling of the lobe, but it is not popular or publicized.
Sorry, this is not any of the known doubled dies. This one is just a normal cent and the lobe on a better struck 1984 cent looks like this normally
I agree. I know what it's like Wolf. I've come acorss several 1984 cents, that I thought had the possibilty, but in the end turned out, not so. Good Luck.
