I wanted to know if anyone could tell me why the color of this penny looks like this. Is it something special or is it just from being damaged over the years?

This is just toning, not an error or damage. Welcome to CoinTalk!

Welcome to CT. It's made of Zinc with a thin layer of copper. It was in the ground and turned this color due to what is known as environmental damage. It's worth one cent.
