Hi @Doug swanson! That is sort of fun! Can you tell us whether that "D" looking thing is raised like the other letters and numbers on the coin? Or is it incused? Also, I recommend that you rephotograph the obverse of your coin and give us a closer, clearer view of that part of the coin you are asking about. I can't seem to see it close enough. If you do those two things, then when our experts come, they should be able to tell you whether what you have is a coin minted at the Philadelphia Mint (which did not begin putting mint marks on the cents they produced until last year) that suffered some type of post mint damage; or, whether it is an error that occurred in the minting process. I look forward to hearing what the CT experts have to say.
@Doug swanson - I wonder why I can't zoom in on that photograph you added of the detail. You may need to shoot that part of the coin again for the CT experts to be able to give you that opinion you seek.
Your Cent looks to be a normal Philadelphia mint Cent (no mint mark) Whatever that thing could be it is not a Mint Mark. Probably Crud. IMHO
Hi ! I'm from Philippines and I have 1984 D rare error one cent penny lincoln. I just want to ask, how much will it cost if i decided to sell it. I am hoping for your reply, thank you and God bless!
