Hi I'm new to this website but I've found it useful in looking at all my coins I found 2 out of a pile that caught my eye. a penny that looks cut and has an inverted "IN GO" on the side The dime looks like it was double died? I'm not sure what the terminology is. but the words and head look really thick on both sides while the date is normal. My pictures are probably not the best and I suck at describing things so sorry in advance.
Great question! The correct Numismatic Terminology is just Doubled Die.. not double died which means something that died twice Your Dime is just a worn Die Strike and your Cent had another Cent smashed against it.. None are Mint Errors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubled_die Quote - "Note that the proper terminology for this occurrence includes the letter 'd' at the end of the first word, hence "doubled die". The term "double die" without the first word ending in 'd' is not proper numismatic terminology." closed quote
