1983 Rim to Rim die crack

Here's a fun pocket change find. At first glance I thought it was a scratch but looking closer it looks like a bisecting, rim to rim die crack.

Interesting how the crack incorporates the dot to the left of UNUM.

Looks like a little lamination also going on.

As I’m sure you’ve observed there are lots of these on these’80s reverses but this one’s very, very atypical. It’s deep, too, showing right through the building.

 

Ok it has been submitted. If approved it will be the third I have listed on this site, I do have to say it is a pretty handy site to compare coins and it's not really hard to navigate. They do a great job.

 

Well I submitted it and he said he was going to pass on it because he wasn't sure if it was a die crack or plating issues. To me it looks like a crack with some lamination going on. I may try again when I get a better set up for taking pictures.
