Hello I am new to coin collecting and noticed a penny with an extra mark on the back side. I've included a photo and hopefully someone can explain whether or not this is worth holding onto.
Your 1983 Cent is a Copper Plated Zinc coin... That is a plating issue called a Plating Bubble. Not worth saving IMHO
What would be a good find as far as penny errors are concerned? Do they all have mint marks? I've noticed one with no mint mark, but looked into it and there was a certain year when they started the mint mark.

Always look for DDOs, DDRs, Wide AMs, Close AM, Die Clashes, etc. Look up different errors or buy a book. Cherrypicker's Guide is a great resource.
