1983 penny. missing neck

    The dies clashed and the mint abraded the dies, weakening/removing some of the design in the process. Fairly common.

    These can often be obtained for about $1.

    Hmmm...I certainly wouldn't pay $1 for these, but that's just me.

    If that's worth a $1, I must have kept $100 worth. Im kinda obsessed with the 83p because to me, its the mint's ugliest cent ever and I question if the master die or working hubs was damaged at some point that year because half of the ones I find are like this. I found one so bad, it looks like Abe didn't eat for a month lol

    Maybe one day it would be compared to the missing leg nickel, it can be called diet Abe lol. Either way I'm keeping it, its interesting. Thanks for replies

    Yes . Keep this coin cause its an error coin .
    Last night i found a copy of this coin .
    No mater what some people say .

    Hi and welcome to CT. I agree with you but this is a 7 year old thread. Stuff like this is fun to save but there is little value to them.
