I'm sorry for asking this question but when is extra thick this considered a double die this Penny weighs 2.68 grams it's a 1983 through versus very thick and the lettering is almost Above the Rim
The tolerance is +/-.13 of a gram for zinc and copper cents. So a range of 2.37-2.63 is normal. At 2.68, .05 (1/20th of a gram) is out of tolerance, but it isn't enough to garner a premium. As for any DD or wicked thickness, you would have to show better detailed photos and comparisons, to be able to see anything. Offhand, this cent is worth .01.
@Willysilver It is important to make sure your scale is calibrated. Sometimes this is difficult if you don't have the calibration weights. One trick is to weigh 5-10 coins in the weight range you are checking. If you weigh 10 plated lincolns and they all come out around 2.5 (or 2.50 depending on the precision of your balance), then you're probably OK. If you get some wild numbers or big variations, then you may have a problem Doing this won't calibrate your scale, but it will give you some confidence that it's giving you an accurate reading.
