Actually Found 4 of these in my change jar. I saw they were worth something if they were ms65 or higher. Just trying to get an opinion on this one.
Circulated. Mint sets were not issued in 1983, making uncirculated examples scarce, hence their higher value.
I they actually worth anything in circulated condition? Last year when I first started collecting coins I saved all of the 1983 quarters I found because I saw that they were considered valuable on cointrackers.com http://cointrackers.com/coins/899/1983-p-washington-quarter/ (even though that site dramatically exaggerates the values of coins.) But then I was finding so many at work that I stopped keeping them. I have 37 1983 P and 20 1983 D. I'm gonna hold onto them for now but i'm not sure if I should just cash them in. But who knows, maybe someone on ebay will buy them if I sell a rolls worth.
These were made in huge numbers and typical examples have no especial value. Nice XF's and AU's will bring a premium and are worth saving but damaged coins, worn, and poorly made ones are quite common. Some of these also have a type "d" reverse that might be worth saving even in VF. These are distinguished by a larger gap between the right side of the N in UNUM and the eagle's head.
1983 P with errors are somewhat valuable! Is the spitting EAGLE valuable and what other features are to look for in 1983- P
Great picture for not grading. What I see could just as easily be AU or MS. Most likely AU because of the rim dings. Is that a die crack across the top of his skull or coin roller damage?
