morning folks. I found this some time ago and had no idea what it was. In FB groups people were saying PMD. I learned SO much here over the years that I was confident enough based on what I was seeing, that was MORE than likely not the case. finally, Mr. Potter to the rescue. he was nice enough to take the time to weigh in, and he said "struck in burr from a damaged planchet". looking at error-ref it talks of "rim burr errors" does that mean a rim burr IS an error? also, is a damaged planchet, the same thing as a defective planchet. i'm trying to determine if the rim cud is the only good thing about it? or if there are 2 or all 3 things, that are good? thanks.
In the case of the Rim Burr it was damaged during the blanking and the Rim Upsetting Proccess. A defective plachet would be.. Cracked planchet, fissures, rolled thin or thick, missing clad layer.. etc.
