1983 "ONE CENT" Double Die (2)

    So i was searching through more rolls of pennies i have gotten from the bank...and if anyone remember the first thread i had about my 1983 double die reverse http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=38274 ....everyone had told me it was machine doubling rahter than double die....is it possible for a machine to do a machine doubling the exact some on two coins on the obverse and reverse? cause i found ANOTHER one the exact same doubles if anyone could help please let me know! thanks

    Sure it's possible. Mechanical doubling is caused when a die gets a bit loose in the press or there is a vibration - something moves at the end of the strike. So if one coin has it, it stands to reason several will until the problem is fixed.

    Sorry to say but that is to FLAT to be a double die, it is machine doubling.
