Easy.. D Mint Mark Philadelphia didn't use a Mint Mark And that is not a S Mint Mark niether. Mid 1982 the US mint changed over to copper plated zinc cents. A lot of D Mint Marks had plating exposure resulting in Zinc Rot. This is what happened to your Cent.
