Found this 1983 Lincoln this evening roll searching. Looks like a die crack/break running from the rim and into the lower right-hand side of the Lincoln Memorial.
The crack climbs up onto the memorial and then, yeah, it gets sorta funky and weird for a bit before turning back into a crack again on the other side. Could be a blister or maybe the beginnings of a die break to come. Not really sure. Thankfully, the coin is in nice shape. It looks like an refugee out of somebody’s penny jar because it’s 40 years old but still looks mint state.
I think that it is all die crack. The area on the right at the bush could be the beginning of a retained IDB. Fun find and great pics Confederate.
I’m using a Leuchtturm PhoneScope that fits over the camera lens of my iPhone. Great for looking for errors and doing pics and edits.
I believe so. It flexes open and then snugs itself to your phone. But you have to remove any additional protective case you might normally House your phone in.
Thing is that decade and particularly that year has lots of those coming off the rim from the foundation up to the roof. Be on the lookout, you'll find them.
