Hello again here's a 1983 Lincoln cents with what I believe is a strike through. It looks too uniform for a zinc bubble. It looks like a needle or a bobby pin. What do you think ladies and gentlemen?
These are bubbles. When considering a strike through, consider voids and relief. Reverse thinking needs to be applied and consideration of where the effect takes place (e.g., in the field or a device the design or the rim, etc.).
As above, linear plating bubble. Much was left to be desired when the Mint changed the composition in the copper plating. It still exists today but to a lesser degree.
