1983 Double D error

    I just bought some coins a couple of hours ago, and while looking through this I found a 1983 double D. I only found 2 articles on the internet about it. Can someone give me some information about it? [​IMG]

    Since he is a new member, of course he does. Someone will come along and point out that since this is a plated cent, it is just zinc rot/plating blister.

    The plating split along the edge of the mm when the coin was struck. Not unusual to see this on early zinc cents. It took the mint a little time to figure out how to strike them
