    I am new to coin collecting, so please excuse me if some of my questions seem silly. Needing to know if this 1983 dime is an error coin and if it’s even worth holding on to. The numbers on the3 are raised and off. The medal of the coin is a black color almost, is that common due to some kind of corrosion? Or is it something else? Any info or opinions please let me know! Thank you!

    The color is due to Environmental toning damage.

    The number 3 issue is due to a worn die strike.
