1983 DDR ? Take a look

    I have to admit, that is a tough one.
    Parts look like a DDR, other parts look like die fatigue.

    Where is Mike?

    I have to say it's die deterioration you could see there's doubling on both sides of the letters and hub doubling doe's not have that, and the images are also distorted a dead give away for die errosin.

    I think what you are seeing on the E through the T is a die crack notice the raised line between the E and T which is giving that look the splits in the both letters are just that ,and they don't apear to be splits and correct seperation for a doubled die no doubled die to me.

    Take notice there's also a die chip on the D and maybe another die crack as well , and a die crack exstending nortwest from the R to the E

    fishin,

    It looks as if it may be a DDR but additional pics are needed! Try taking some pictures of somewhat larger areas of the Reverse and post them. As is, the pics distort the Letters and it is hard to tell if there are Split Serifs or reflections on the ridging (high points) or just Die Fatigue!
