I need feedback on this since I was unable to locate this RPM in Coneca , coppercoins , lincolncentresource nor the cherrypicker's guide. I found another thread that jello had started on a 1983-D Lincoln , but his RPM looked very different.
Hard to tell for me. The SE area looks like strike doubling to me. However, the image also looks like there might potentially be an extra verticle bar inside the primary as well as a potential split upper serif. Do you see any seperation of that upper serif?
After seeing these photos I'm going to say strike doubling. The mm for '83 was a thick one and the strike doubling effect has thinned it rather than added to it.
I was looking at the MM styles at variety vista before posting my query here and the 1983-D style is thicker than some but not as thick as the 1980-1982 style. http://www.varietyvista.com/Denver%20Mintmark%20Syles%20Cent.htm MMS-010
