looks like the top of the d is missing, I think in that year the error can be found in the ear

 

For giggles I shot the ear, it don't look right either, lol

 

I would just be guessing but I would say that is not the dd, maby you'll get a second opinion.

 

I don't think it is a dd, the ear looks a little busy but I don't think anything special. I am not sure what is going on with the mint mark though. It may just be md

I would have to agree that is a great example of RPM-002. Are you familiar with where to look to check the varieties you find? If not coppercoins.com has the largest searchable database with photos and markers for lincon cent varieties. That I know of. You would want to verify your finds here also, if it is not there it might be a new variety.

I think what you are seeing here is a contact mark and possible some MD as well.
