Hello everyone, I recently came into a lot of 100 wheat back Lincoln Cents, while going through them I discovered this penny, it's a 1983-D, I'm thinking someone thought it was a steel 1943 penny, and it appears to have had a copper coating that has since almost entirely worn away, revealing a silver colored metal beneath, it is not magnetic so it's not steel, actually I'm not sure what it is, it's got me puzzled. I'd appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this coin for me, thank you.

Thanks, is that a copper plating that has worn off to expose the zinc?
