They say this is a great find... It feels to good to be true.....it weighs 3.0 I have about 20 83 penny's and only 1 weighs this amount.... Opinions please and if you think it is worth it .. Where do I go what are the steps to get paid .....
If it's actually copper it has a lot of value. It would be 10 to 15K. I don't think that is what you have. I'm not sure if one with the D mintmark has ever been found.
Agree with post #2. The coin on the scale is not a 1983. Photo is blurry but it appears to be 1980. And BamBam is correct. No mint mark on the scale coin. Ahhaha. It was a 1983-D linky: https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots/view/3-7WJV2
Well I don't believe anybody has been sarcastic yet, but it's obvious that the OP took a picture of the coin with the scale 3 feet away.and the other two pics where close up and cut and cropped, So what's a person to think.JMO Dave
Here's 3 1982-D "small date" copper for just $20,000. https://www.etsy.com/listing/589609007/3-1982-d-small-date-copper-penny?gpla=1&gao=1&show_panel=true
