    Damage. IMHO

    Looks interesting though. But if you look on the Reverse side you can see that flattened area on the side of the Lincoln Memorial building. That happens when pressure is added to the opposite side.

    I concur @ liberty shows that the coin was flattened out. The rim is bulged in the area.
