1983 1C DDR FS-802???

    It's very hard to see from your photo. A photo of the entire coin taken directly above it would help a lot. Thank you.:)

    I think you're looking for the DDR on this coin. That is typically found on the words "ONE CENT" on the reverse.
    I've been looking for years and have never found that one.
    As Thom suggests, take photos of both sides, crop them to just the coin images, and post the full size images and not the thumbnails.

    I think you're looking at the "E" in STATES , aren't you?

    That looks like what is known as Die Deterioration Doubling, which means, as the die gets old and wears out, it allows the hot metal from the strike to ooze out from under the edge of the die, forming what looks like doubling but really isn't considered real doubling at all. It is so common it has no value.
    Take a look at this link. On the upper left side is a list of topics. Choose the one called "Worthless Doubling" and it explains it very well. When you get a chance, read all of the topics, especially the ones about how coins are made.

    It's too close to call for me, but I'm not exactly seeing it.
    Looks more like DDD to me.
