I may have found one its in great shape my dad had saved it only because it was the year i was born. It has some little black speckles amd alot of superlight scraches on it. What i wanna know is if they are so rare why does copper coins have the highest value at 4500. Dont ask me to post a pic my camera sucks or i just dont know the right settings for it. So why so cheap?
Since the die can produce up to about a million coins before it needs replacing, any coin with a full die run is fairly plentiful. The $4500 is for a MS65 which is not a really common grade for most cents. That makes it much more rare than say a MS60. $4500 is a good price for any error coin in today's economy. IMHO
The prices for this coin listed on Coppercoins cannot be considered accurate or anything more than speculation as there are only three specimens known to exist at this time and none have ever been offered for sale. That being said, we really need to see good quality photos to know if this is one of this specimen. Do you have a friend that might know how to photo this? I have spoken over the web with ten times as many people that thought they had one then there are currently know to exist. It is really important to verify if you have the real thing. Richard
