1982D Zincoln struck through debris?

    I know it is VERY worn, but I don't think these marks are PMD though. Looks like it may have been struck through thread or wire.

    Hmm. I am assuming you meant PMD?

    Makes me wonder if this one is struck through like I thought it was

    Here is a 2001 D I found a year ago. In AU condition, kept it because I thought it was struck through debris. Looks kinds similar to the lines on coin in OP. 2001D.jpg

    Is this one PMD?

    I think both of them are the result of a strikethrough. The second one was probably caused by a length of cord. I'm not sure about the first, but it could be a couple of strands of cord, too.

    A good test is if there is a pressure ridge at the edge of the anomaly. Damage after a coin is struck will displace metal and cause a raised ridge at the edge of the damage. The design or field of a coin will be normal other than the anomaly with a strike through. These coins do look like good candidates for being struck through.
