I posted this in the coin roll huntingvthread as well, but i was told to post it here by an expert on errors. I always set aside all 1982 pennies when i hunt and weigh them afterwards for the copper content. This was in my 1982D pile. What do you guys and gals think? Im pretty sure it is a small date, but i could be wrong.
I was hoping for a small, but expecting a large, so no letdown here. I kind of figured it's best to not get your hopes up unless you're certain, which is why I reached out here.
And the total population of people "finding" 1982-D small date bronze cents and posting them on CoinTalk is now 0 for a gazillion.
Lol, I wasn't looking at all the markers. Thats my bad, I won't post anymore unless I'm more than 55% certain.
Maybe I’m “old school”, but since finding one is less of a chance than hitting Powerball and MegaMillions in the same week, well... You get the idea.
Lol, it can still happen. I'm going to keep looking regardless. One cent could pay off all my bills and then some.
No harm in looking imo. The "problem" is with folks who've no desire to learn and expect the forum to do their work for them. We've had more than a few searching for the 69-S DDO like this, and it usually doesn't end well. Best of luck, Mikee.
Wow... yeah, no. Silly thing is I had that image with the lines, but all I took from it was the 8 was different. I need to get a coin microscope.
The only time I'll post on an error is after doing research and if I'm still uncertain. I've found a few errors on my own. I have 2 1974D DDO Kennedy Half Dollars and one 1955 poor man's doubled die as well as a dateless strike through error nickel. For the most part it's fairly easy for me to research and verify on my own.
