Small Date.. Philadelphia mint (no mint mark) Normal. Not rare. @furryfrog02 .. Maybe the last one for 2019?
Welcome to CT!! I agree with @paddyman98. I would add that ALL 1982 LMCs have wide AMs. This is normal and did not change to the Close AM until 1993. I assume this is what you are showing us in your reverse photo.
Scratch on the eye don’t mean anything? Thanks for any help. I know a lot of people get tired of answering the same questions.
Welcome to Coin Talk. Your photos are too small for me to see any doubling. Maybe some members get tired of answering the same questions but a lot of us are always willing to help newcomers. Ask any question. If someone's tired of it they shouldn't answer. The only very valuable 1982 Lincoln cent is the 1982-D Small Date copper cent. (So far only 2 have been found)
The eye looks like PMD to me Ahh I see. Well actually I don't see. Never have been good at spotting DDs. Maybe next time try telling us what you are seeing on the coin rather than making us guess. This would be very helpful.
My hope was it would stick out to someone else so much they would have to see it. Didn’t want to call it the wrong thing either.
2.5 grams means it is a zinc coin. 3.11g for copper cent. So it is a small date, Philly zinc, which in mint state has value, because when they transitioned from copper to zinc, Philly had a lot of problems with the new metal, and less were released than were produced as they had to destroy many of them. Your coin is not mint state, but it was the final piece of my 1982 7 cent set, and I would keep it, even though there's no real value. That was the toughest one for me to find out of the 7.
