1982 p half dollar gold colored

    Was this struck on a dollar planchet it's gold colored rainbowish in the light it's a beautiful half dollar I just found

    I have found about 10 of these while CRH. Mine are gold plated clad coins. Somebody plated them after they left the mint.

    For years, I used to search two $500 boxes of Kennedy halves each week. I would see a lot of coins from the 70's & 80's toned similar to this. I don't know if it was due to environmental or chemical conditions, but like @paddyman98 said, it certainly wasn't caused by the misuse of a dollar planchet because the golden dollar wasn't introduced until the year 2000.

    I'm still peeking at this coin on the reverse side on the right wing is that a gauge?.
