Not a DD, just struck with a worn die.

If I could ask, what does a worn die do?, what's its function or malfunction. Any information would make me a better coin lover, collector and new coin hound. If you could give me information I'd be grateful , ericred

A worn die exhibits pretty much what is depicted above. It is a die that has gone beyond it's useful life and is beginning to approach a terminal state.........

As it is used it gets worn, distorted, cracked and sometime broken, making lower and lower quality strikes.

Looks more to me like an early stage dryer coin.

Yeah, that fell out of someone's pocket and rattled around inside the dryer for a spell. That's what happens as the wet trousers dry, the pockets open up. It was then taken out of the dryer for all the racket it was making. Then someone bought something with it. Then the business that got it deposited it in its bank. Then that bank sent it off to its cash reserves. Then it was counted, rolled, and boxed. Then another bank ordered coin and it was delivered to that bank. Then you got it from that bank.
