    hey guys,

we all know about the seven (or was it 9) varieties of cents made in 1982. i have started filling up bags full of various circulated 1982s. i thought this was a good idea, due to the tiny premium over the other lincoln pennies of the 80s. will this be valueable in the future years or am I wasting my time?

Well I suppose it depends on how far in the fututre you are talking about. But for the most part - I don't think it will be very fruitful. Of course if you were to only save nice BU examples - it might be another story.

I'd have to agree with GDJMSP.
However, if you enjoy doing it, and it adds to you coin collecting experience, I wouldn't call it a waste of time.
On the other hand, if you see the hobby only as a way to turn a profit, you ain't gonna do it by hoarding circulated 1982 cents.

    Hey Chevy,

There are a total of 8 varieties of the 1982 Lincoln. This includes the "S" mint mark.

As far as value goes, well the seven variety set sells in the neighborhood of $5, the proof sells in the 3 to 4 dollar range.
I can't see it going much more than that.
