Okay, I have read several posts about the 1982 Lincoln and the different compositions and date sizes. So, it got me curious. I am thinking about trying to assemble a set of the varieties. Thing is I want to make sure that the number of coins I would need is correct. By my findings I would need.

    Copper - 3.11 grams
    --------
    1982 Lg. Date
    1982 Sm. Date
    1982-D Sm. Date
    1982-D Lg. Date
    1982 Proof

Copper Plated Zinc - 2.5 grams
    ---------------------
    1982 Lg. Date
    1982 Sm. Date
    1982-D Sm. Date
    1982-D Lg. Date

So, that would be a total of 9 coins in the set. Am I correct? I know I read somewhere you can by sets, but seems like this would be a fun one to track down.

The one thing I can't answer for sure is if the large/small dates exist for both mints in zinc and copper.

Some folks say there are 8 varieties - some say 9. And to be quite honest I can't remember exactly which is correct

Gonna have to look it up I guess

As best as I can find out - the answer is 8. Apparently there is no '82-D copper small date.

Seems strange. Just because they changed composition would that have meant they would have changed dies too?
