I posted this along woth a 1071 DDO and think it might have been over-looked. Just want to know if anyone else think it is a dropped number or letter.

I have tons of strange looking pennies from searching about 60,000 of them the last eight months from bank rolls.

It's not a dropped letter or number but something dropped in there during the strike. Therefore I'm going to call it a 'struck through' or just post mint damage.

It's clearly post-strike damage. The pressure ridge is a dead giveaway.

What does that mean? it happened after it left the mint or while still there? it gets confusing. What determines whether it is worth keeping?

It happened after it left the mint. Hence, post mint. It is a damaged cent and worth 1¢.

He said " Post-Strike" not " Post-Mint" Hence, my concern it could have still happened while in the process of being made.

You are talking semantics. After it is struck. Therefore, it is damage. It is worth 1¢.

No reason to challenge. But it may help you also to read up and try and challenge. This is not a stab at all but when in doubt research normally will put you on the same page as the majority.

You have been given perfect information and there is nothing

You have been given perfect information and there is nothing to challenge. This coin is not even a close one or difficult please don't be mislead - as far as errors goes this is kindergarden and not even 1st grade. Not only is there nothing in the mint process that would cause it you can see the color difference in the copper.

WOW "60,000 of them the last eight months." That's a lot to go through.

I have an odd penny mark too, soon I will be able to get my coins shot and up on the board for you guys to see.

On this one penny there seems to be an impression of a mark not completly made right next to the "D". I am tempeted to pick it off, but have been sitting on my hands until I can get a picture of it, not sure what it is.
