Weighs 2.5 Grams too. Here's the link to Coppercoins . http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1982&die_id=1982p1do001&die_state=mds
I found that a few years ago, I had it slabbed along with a few others when ANACS had one of their specials.
I'm a little curious why ANACS says it's on a Bronze, or Zinc ( 3.11 Grams ) when it should be on a Copper Panchet ( 2.5 ) grams ? Here's the link to Coneca http://varietyvista.com/Variety Master Listings/lincoln doubled dies 1980-1996.htm#_1982
Good question, I see Conca states they are copper. PCGS also calls them bronze. http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/146020 Then I found this Several types of bronze are used, commonly B20 bronze, which is roughly 20% tin, 80% copper, with traces of silver, or the tougher B8 bronze which is made from 8% tin and 92% copper. As the tin content in a bell or cymbal rises, the timbre drops.
There was 2 planchets for 1982 . One was Zinc, or Bronze ( 3.11 grams ) and the other one was Copper ( 2.5 grams ) .
If you look at Coppercoins site, 1 & 3 are real close to each other and the easiest way to tell them apart, is weighing them . Ones on a zinc planchet, or bronze and the other copper . Here's the the to 1 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1982&die_id=1982p1do001&die_state=mds Here's the one for 3 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1982&die_id=1982p1do003&die_state=mds
Rick, isn't this backwards? The copper/bronze should weigh 3.1g and the zinc/copper plated weighs 2.5g. Or maybe I'm not following your meaning above.
So mine is DDO-003, not DDO-001 . http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1982&die_id=1982p1do003&die_state=mds
