The dealer had them stored in a clear tube. I thought $15 cash was a good price to take it home.
It now sits in a 2X2 cardboard holder in the safe deposit box at the bank.
Well I turned a significant major corner today. This is my first successful posting of a picture on this forum.
    I am excited, yes.

Man I have no idea. I used photobucket and our test page...
but it was Daggarjon who spotted my trouble and suggested I close the link with [/img].
That is what set me free from impairment. A huge THANKS to Daggarjon...

Those silver Libertads are pretty. I recently had a chance to pick up several on Ebay for around spot price. I would love to have one of the gold Libertads too.

Yeah, I find that eagle design a bit boring, and way too overused..

    Eagle overused?

Well maybe you are not aware that just like our US coins the Eagle must be used according to law. Written
legislation has mandated it. Unless someone changes the written law there is no way around it.
It's not like the mints can use whatever they want.

I love the Libertads, and also the Britannias. And, to a lesser extent, the Pandas and Kookaburras. I've got a few of each.

I think I like the Libertads and Britannias more because they look more like what I think a coin should look like.

The American Silver Eagle is right there with them. For that matter, looking a few posts up, so is the Standing Liberty Quarter.

see, to me, the Panda is one of the top artiscaly beautiful coins. Pleasant, elegant, just beautiful. Im not all the interested in the Kookaburras though. i would LOVE the Britannias. i think that design is one of the most beautiful ever done... with some of the designs being bvetter than our ASE liberty. The only problem (for me) is the image of the queen. (i really dont want to offend anyone with this comment!!) for me, the image of the queen detracts from the desirability of the coin. I pass on alot of Canada and British commonwealth coinage only because of the queen. I think it stems, and the American coinage falls into the same category, the queen has been pictured on the coinage my entire life. I need a change in the design to embrace it. I get bored with the design quickly... ADHD maybe :D
